Our Mission

Our new mission statement, values & guiding principles were approved by the Board of Trustees on Monday, March 11, 2013.  Read them HERE.

How do I become a member of CBINT? What's the process?

We'd love to have you join our community! Just contact us at office@cbintmilwaukee.org or call 414-352-7310 for more information and a membership packet.  We're happy to meet you & your family, give you a tour of the synagogue, and introduce you to our clergy & professional staff.

Why should I join CBINT?

See this page for a short list of the benefits of becoming a member of CBINT.  In short, though, we’re large enough to offer daily minyanim, opportunities for Jewish education & spiritual growth, and many social events.  But we’re also small enough to know one another and be a cohesive community.  We support each other and share in each other’s happy events and times of sorrow.

I think I'd like to join, but I don't know anyone at CBINT.

We have lots of opportunities for getting involved and meeting people.  On this Web site you can view our calendar and monthly newsletter to see upcoming events.  Additionally, one of the best way to get to know people is to get involved. We always have volunteer opportunities in which you'll make friends and enjoy the camaraderie of working with others toward a common goal.

Why should I join now? My child is only two years old.

It's never too soon to be a part of the Jewish community regardless of the age(s) of your children. In addition to starting early in getting your child to feel comfortable in a synagogue, there are benefits of synagogue life for adults, as well.  CBINT provides ongoing opportunities to study, experience, and enjoy being connected to a Jewish community.

I don’t have young children.  Why do I need a synagogue?

While we offer many family-oriented programs that doesn't mean we're open only to families with younger children.  For people without young children there are opportunities to participate in Sisterhood or Men's Club, adult education seminars, leadership opportunities, social action programs, and, of course, worship experiences. Regardless of your stage of life, CBINT can enhance your connection to the beautiful traditions of Conservative Judaism.

What does it cost to join?  Isn't it expensive?

While we do have expenses like any other organization, we strive to reduce or remove financial obstacles for people who would like to become a part of our community.  We are happy to work with you to find a way to making joining "doable" for you yet fair to the synagogue.  All finance-related discussions are highly confidential.

Can I “test drive” CBINT?

Of course!  Come to Shabbat services and stay for our delicious Kiddush luncheon, attend adult education classes, or come to any of our many programs throughout the year.  We'd be happy to add your name to our e-mail list so you'll know of all the things going on here each week.

To ease the awkwardness of coming to CBINT if you don’t know anyone, our clergy, professional staff or membership committee co-chairs can introduce you to people with whom you might have a connection or things in common.
