Bat Mitzvah of Isabella Julia Secunda

Isabella Julia Secunda will become a Bat Mitzvah on Saturday, May 20 at 9:00 am.  Izzy is the daughter of Mindy and Paul, and the sister of Jake.  Grandparents are Lynne & Steven Secunda of Philadelphia and Elinor & Nathan Young of Pittsburgh.

Izzy is a 7th grader at Bayside Middle School, where she is in the choir and on the track and tennis teams   She is in Kitah Zayin of the School of Judaic Studies here at CBINT.  Her hobbies include baking, cooking and biking.

Izzy's Mitzvah Project is in support of the Wisconsin Humane Society Ozaukee Campus.  A collection basket is in the synagogue lobby for your generous donations:  tissue paper, AA batteries, baby wipes, potty-training pads, dog toys, paper towels, stainless steel cat food bowls.

Bar Mitzvah of Milo Tasman

On May 27, Milo Benjamin Tasman will be called to the Torah as a Bar Mitzvah.

Milo is a 7th grader at the Milwaukee Jewish Day School where math is and has always been one of his favorite subjects. He competes with the forensics team, plays on the MJDS Lions' volleyball team and runs with the cross country team.

Milo also enjoys boogie boarding in the waves, paddling canoes and kayaks, rock-climbing, camping and being in nature. He loves foraging for wild edible plants and herbs from the garden, and he especially loves fresh Asian cuisine.

When he's not outside, Milo plays with his pals on the PS4 and has been known to be a fierce competitor with classic games like Cribbage and Rummy.

Milo spent earlier, formative years and summers at the UW-Milwaukee Children’s Center where he met many of his life-long friends. Most of the year he lives with his parents Marc and Bonnie and his sister, Sarina, and he’s most at home when he’s with his sleep-away camp family at Habonim Dror Camp Tavor in Michigan.

Milo is the great-grandson of Martha Frockt of Louisville, and grandson of Mina and Jerry Tasman of Louisville, and Mona and Sandor Klein of Montreal, Canada.

Bat Mitzvah of Eva Antonoff

On June 3, Eva Antonoff will be called to the Torah as a Bat Mitzvah.

This year she has taken part in the school play and also has joined the girls volleyball team at MJDS.  She very much enjoyed both.

Eva's favorite subject in school is language arts because writing stories and poems is her way of expressing herself.

A couple of months ago she started to play guitar and continues to grow with her music.

Some of her favorite hobbies are drawing, horseback riding, writing, exploring the outdoors, acting, and caring for animals.

As part of her Bat Mitzvah project Eva  will be volunteering at the Jewish Home and Care Center.
